I'm a little bored so i'm going to talk about some things.

What can I talk about. I could talk about E3 but i'm a little late to that party and alot has changed since then what with Microsoft's change of heart over the one and whatnot. Still, the PS4 is what I will be getting. I just like Sony's approach and more importantly, their games. I'm loyal to them and if that makes me a fanboy so be it.

I could talk about how good The Last of Us, but I think people have figured that out for themselves. I'll just say that it is up there in the pantheon of all time greats with titles like Half Life 2 and Planescape Torment.

I'm playing Skyrim through again. The 'Legendary' version. It still isn't entirely fixed on the PS3. I didn't expect it to be. Fallout NV still isn't fixed on the PS3 or at all judging from the PC version which is a mess as well. Shame. I really like it as a game. More than 3 in fact.

I still want a new Syphon Filter. It is the right time for it from not only a 'where the hell is Syphon Filter?!' perspective but also from a gameplay perspective. They have come along way since the last PSP game.

Oh, and there's that.

Dust 514 excites me

Dust 514 is looking to be very exciting and very ambitious all at the same time. CCP will attempt to connect the PS3 exclusive sci-fi MMOFPS to their huge and much loved PC MMO EVE. The idea being that players in EVE will be able to hire players in Dust (acting as mercs) to attack or defend resources on planets of interest and tactical importance in EVE directly affecting both games. The implications this could have on the EVE universe with its complex economy (managed by actual economists) and ongoing power struggle is massive.

The action itself is incredibly large in scale featuring a vast array of ground and aerial vehicles, tactical objective based gameplay and the ability to call down orbital strikes from the ships of EVE players waiting anxiously above. As I said, very ambitious. The game itself bares alot of similarities with Planetside which is not a bad thing at all.

Nothing like this has ever been attempted before, and, if it pays off, i'll be playing it for a very long time.

Did I mention it will be free to play. And, knowing CCP, it will be supported with updates and new content for years to come.

The Last of Us and God of War Ascension gameplay videos

Sony showed off these two heavy hitters at their E3 press conference. They both look mightily impressive. I'd have to give the edge to The Last of Us though due to it's intimate violence and reactionary AI.

Nintendo and Sony don't fare much better than Microsoft.

Nintendo, despite having new hardware to show off with the WiiU managed to disappoint with a distinct lack of details and games for their new console. They couldn't even confirm a price or date. The games they did show were underwhelming at best. There was no Zelda, no Starfox, and instead it's getting Mass Effect 2. Yeah, that's right, 2. A game that came out years ago and has since spawned a trilogy ending sequel.

Sony fared a bit better as they did at least have some games to show with Beyond, God of War Ascension and The Last of Us. Unfortunately a lot of the good work was undone by a poorly conceived and overlong demo of Wonderbook. It's an AR story book using the Eyetoy which has distinct similarities with Eyepet but alot more potential. I like the concept but 25 minutes Sony? Really?

With all this considered the publishing house Ubisoft easily had the strongest showings at E3. They showed more of Assassins Creed 3, including an impressive high seas battle at the Sony conference. Far Cry 3 is looking terrific as well, but, most importantly, they unveiled Watch Dogs which looks indescribably great.

Quantic Dreams new title is Beyond

So the Heavy Rain creators have unveiled their new game Beyond which seems to have a supernatural element to it. It also stars Juno actress Ellen Page which may explain why she wasn't bothered about how much Ellie in The Last of Us looked like her. Here is the trailer for this intriguing game. I'd highly recommend watching it.

Also, as a bonus, here's Quantic Dreams 'Kara' tech demo which is also very impressive.

Watch Dogs gameplay has left my jaw on the floor

Just, wow. I'm honestly struggling to believe this is running on current gen hardware. I'd say it's one of the most impressive looking games i've ever seen. Bravo Ubisoft.

Here's what has caught my eye at E3 so far

It seems after years of stagnation Tomb Raider has finally reinvented itself. The new game is Lara's 'origin story' and is alot darker, violent and more action packed than ever before as evidenced by the trailer below. I'm sure you'll agree (if anyone reads this that is) that it looks bloody terrific.

Next up, some Medal of Honor Warfighter gameplay. I really liked the last one and Frostbite 2.0 sure does make stuff look amazing. One thing to keep an eye out for is the impressive destructibility.

Finally, NFS Most Wanted. It's easy to explain why i'm excited. It is afterall a Criterion developed open world racing game. Both Burnout Paradise and NFS Hot Pursuit were amazing so I expect this to be as well. Plus, it looks gorgeous.
