Deus Ex Human Revolution: My hopes as a Deus Ex fan.

Being a huge Deus Ex fan i'm always going to be excited for anything bearing the name. Deus Ex Human Revolution is no different. I'm waiting with baited breath for its August release. I know in my head that it won't be up there with the original but my heart rules when it comes to Deus Ex. I really want Human Revolution to blow everything out of the water. However if it can just capture a tiny part of the originals essence it will be a win in my book.

There is reason to be hopeful to as Square Enix is pumping money into the project. From what I have seen the new character Adam Jensen has a plethora of different abilities to choose from. If you want to play it stealthy choose a cloak and go for silent takedowns. If you like your violence a bit more in your face you could punch and throw your enemies about with Adams robotic arms. This choice (much like the original) applies to the level design as well giving you multiple paths and letting you complete objectives however you want.

The new cover system (sigh) which switches the game from first to third person. As you can see, Human Revolution is no visual slouch.

It is also interesting to note that you will be able to talk your way through the game. The dialogue system looks to have borrowed heavily from Mass Effect (a good thing) whilst adding another layer of depth. I'm hopeful that it will also be possible to complete the game without killing anyone which was possible in the original.

I have noticed some negatives but as I said, this post is written with my heart, not my head.
