Jon "Bones" Jones.

Mauricio Shogun Rua is one of my favourite UFC fighters. Ask anyone who knows about the sport and they will tell you he is a dangerous striker. So at UFC 128 when he was going to be facing off against 23 year old Jon "Bones" Jones who has only been training for 3 years he must of felt confident. I was. I was also wrong. Dead wrong.

Jones didn't just dominate. He messed Shogun up. Not only that but hours before the fight Jones had prevented and then caught some muggers. He is the future of UFC as far as i'm concerned and Rashad Evans does not stand a chance against him.

For a start Jones has a reach of 84.5 (the longest in UFC) and he experiments during the fight. Spinning back elbow against the cage anyone. Randomly trying for a leglock whilst in a dominant ground position. Hell Shogun didn't (couldn't) touch him. When you factor in that he has performed like this in every fight it is hard to see anyone beating him.

Just to clarify here is Shogun after the fight.

messedup
Nice shiner.
