Syphon Filter for PS3! Come on Sony.

some_text

Sony has many fantastic franchises at their fingertips. Unfortunately they have overlooked this one. An espionage game that contains action, stealth and government conspiracy. Despite some hamfisted controls on PS1 it was cutting edge for its time and produced some excellent sequels. It has regrettably never been attempted for PS3 which is a huge shame. This is made more bizarre by the fact that a) it had two very solid and successful outings on the PSP developed by Sony Bend and b) it's the exact kind of game that would do very well this generation. It has all the ingredients in place.

It may be wishful thinking but I'm hoping that as Sony has all their big hitting exclusives coming out this year we will see an announcement at E3 in June. Fingers crossed for a 2012 release. It is complete guesswork but you heard it here first. The upcoming Twisted Metal (fuck yeah!) only makes this seem more likely. Sony clearly remembers that they do have other beloved franchises to call upon. So get on the phone to Gabe Logan!
